Ovivo is looking for a talented Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team in Round Rock, Texas. The role is based in our Round Rock Warehouse Location. Work hours are 5am - 3:30pm M-Th. There will be opportunities for overtime, but it is not guaranteed.

What is the role?

As an Ovivo Assembly Technician, you will build complex, high torque drives to support municipal water product division. Additional responsibilities may include assembly of water purification stacks, traveling bridges, climbing bar screens, belt presses and other products requiring familiarity with electrical wiring, hydraulics, and plumbing/ piping and control panels. Overall areas of technical focus will include:

  • Assembly: Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies, such as motors, gears, and frames, to create a finished product.
  • Tool Use: Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and machinery like drills, grinders, and wrenches to assemble or modify parts.
  • Reading Technical Drawings: Understanding and interpreting blueprints, schematics, or diagrams to ensure proper assembly of parts.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting assembled products for defects, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Fabrication: In some cases, an assembly fitter may also be involved in welding or fabricating parts for the assembly. You may drill, and finish components as well as cut, bend, and thread pipe and tubing.
  • Testing: Conducting tests on machinery or equipment to ensure proper functioning and making adjustments if necessary.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow all work SOP'S related to position.
  • Verify specifications by reviewing assembly instructions.
  • Document work by completing production and quality forms.

Does this sound like you?

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read complex industry related documents. P & ID, Schematics, Flow charts.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane is a plus
  • Must be able to safely lift 50-90lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be familiar with hand tools not limited to but including torque wrench, ratchets, sockets, box end wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, tape measure, calipers, etc.
